SIMON ZAVROS-ORR

Until recently, Simon worked as a Senior Advisor in the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet. His professional background relates to grant administration, cross cultural and community engagement, social policy development and land management.

His formal qualifications span land management, information systems, community development and a Masters of Business Administration.

Simon has expert skills and broadly based experience as an analyst and writer. He has written on behalf of Ministers, senior State and Commonwealth government bureaucrats and various Boards of Management. He has written a broad range of social policy documents, business plans, strategic plans, management plans, reports, journal articles, instruction manuals, web content, media releases, formal correspondence, contracts, and resumes.

Simon has a highly developed understanding of the requirements of successful grant application, having assessed several hundred applications over his career in the Commonwealth government.  He has a strong track record of successful grant applications in his own right. He also has experience as an academic editor, having edited numerous students assignments together with PhD and Masters theses.

Simon has expert skills at interpreting legislation, researching social issues and identifying and integrating disparate sources of information and synthesising these to derive insights and policy actions.

Simon is president of a Victorian School Council, on the board of a highly regarded community organisation supporting children and young people and a leader in the scouting movement.
